Mr Zuhair Nawaz is a highly experienced orthopaedic surgeon based in Surrey. He specialises in all aspects of hip and knee surgery including replacements, revision and complex joint replacement surgery. He also specialises in sports knee injuries/reconstruction, management of patellofemoral conditions, corrective osteotomy surgery and lower limb trauma. Mr. Nawaz is currently an NHS Consultant at Frimley Health Foundation Trust where is one of their expert Lower limb specialist Consultants.Mr. Nawaz uses a combination of innovative techniques and technologies, supported by his excellent training background and experience, ensuring he utilises his extensive surgical skills to manage any orthopaedic problem; to the highest standard.Mr. Nawaz graduated in Medicine from Imperial College London before going on to complete his orthopaedic training on the prestigious London training rotation, with an additional year of experience in plastic surgery.He undertook his fellowship training at the world-renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, undergoing comprehensive training in joint reconstruction. He also received fellowship level training in major trauma and complex limb reconstruction in various specialist centres including St Peters/Rowley Bristow Unit and the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Canada; further broadening his skillset and training.Following completion of his fellowship training, he became a locum consultant surgeon at Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, and continues to undertake both his private and NHS practice in the Surrey area.In addition to his busy practice, Mr, Nawaz is also active in both research and education, and is widely published in all aspects of hip, knee and trauma surgery. He also lectures both nationally and internationally, having presented many times at American and European International Congresses; to large medical audiences.Mr. Nawaz is a passionate educator and teaching is an important part of his practice, taking leading roles in educating future surgeons both as a mentor, trainer and educator, with faculty roles in several national and international courses.
